Prime Powerteam Race Team

Prime Powerteam Race Program

Competing across Briggs and Rotax categories at regional, national, and international events.

We provide coaching, race support, professional equipment, and proven development pathways for motivated drivers looking to take their karting to the next level.

Ontario's Premier Karting Program

Established in 2012 and based at the Hamilton Karting Complex, Prime Powerteam is one of Canada’s top competitive karting programs — supporting drivers across Briggs and Rotax categories at regional, national, and international events.

Led by owner and head coach Trevor Wickens, Prime Powerteam delivers a proven, professional environment designed around performance, development, and long-term progression in motorsports. Working alongside Team Manager Ken O’Keefe, the program combines operational excellence with high-level technical and coaching support.

Our program structure is built around a unique "umbrella system" — meaning every driver receives direct tuning and coaching from Trevor. This ensures:

  • Unified technical direction — no fragmented tuning or isolated setups.
  • Shared learning environment — drivers benefit collectively from data, coaching, and track feedback.
  • Transparent communication — no gatekeeping, no secrets, no mixed messaging.

Development is at the core of the program. Drivers are taught the why behind decisions — not just the what. Daily track walks, structured coaching, data acquisition, and review sessions help drivers understand technique, racecraft, and performance execution.

Proven Pathway. Proven Results.

Prime Powerteam has helped launch multiple drivers into professional racing careers, including:

  • Robert Wickens — IndyCar, F2, IMSA, DTM
  • Kyle Marcelli — IMSA, Weather Tech, Pirelli World Challenge
  • Luke Chudleigh — Formula Renault 2.0
  • Mac Clark — F4 USA, USF2000
  • Patrick Woods-Toth — FR Americas, F4 USA
